“I have been in love with painting all my adult life. I am grateful always that I can indulge this fascination, making, learning, experimenting, and adventuring. Painting is therapy, meditation, a celebration of all things beautiful. Helping students grow in skill and expression is an especially satisfying way to share these joys. Painting makes me happy.”

Living and painting in the Canadian Rockies for four decades has been endlessly inspiring for Canmore artist Patti Dyment. She paints en plein air as much as possible, keen to capture the specific light and atmosphere of each scene.

Patti has been exhibiting in community and commercial

galleries since 1987. In 2011, she was awarded signature status Federation of Canadian Artists signature status.

Primarily self-taught, Patti is a popular instructor of studio and plein air painting in multiple media. She has enjoyed several residencies, including instructing plein air in high alpine camps.
