Julie began painting after graduating with a degree in music. After trying a variety of mediums, she became fascinated with oil painting and how, with just the right combination of colours placed correctly, you could create the same magic on canvas that the right combination of notes could create in music.
Over the next several years, Julie studied extensively with internationally acclaimed artists throughout the United States, and soon began teaching popular workshops across the Canadian Prairies.
Julie resides in the beautiful Bow Valley in Alberta, Canada with her husband and their rescue-dog, Bucky. She paints primarily in oils and does the occasional drawing in pen-and-ink as well. Julie's landscapes, and especially her animal portraiture, are enjoyed internationally, and held in collections across Canada, the USA and Australia.
