Danni Perkins is a native of California. She attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where she began to study art formally. Part way through school she lived in Banff, Alberta and was able to take a two-week intensive painting course at the Banff Centre with Molly Bobak. Returning to California she transferred to Humboldt State University, majoring in art. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and also a teaching degree. The job hunt took her back to the Banff/Canmore area where she taught for several years before having a family. For the last 15 years she has been privileged to study watercolour painting with Donna Jo Massie. Danni has contributed pieces for student shows and has had pieces accepted in the 2013 juried show at the Whyte Gallery in Banff, and Studio 604 in Canmore.
Painting in watercolour is both challenging and exciting. The Canadian Rockies are a continual source of subject matter, and capturing the freshness and spirit of a scene gives me a great deal of pleasure. I hike often, gaining photos and sketches for future paintings.
