Dana has master’s degree in architecture from Prague, Czech Republic. She worked for 10 years in architectural firms in Prague and Toronto, before she decided to switch to art. Later Dana took the art courses at Ontario College of Art, Alberta College of Art and Vancouver Island School of Art. Dana won many awards for her art locally, nationally and internationally. Dana works in acrylics, mixed media and textiles. Since moving to Canmore in 1997, Dana had 14 solo exhibitions, and participated in over a 100 juried group exhibitions. Dana is active member of Alberta Society of Artists, Alberta Craft Council, Ontario Craft Council and Canmore Art Guild
Dana believes the paintings should be a visual poetry, felt with your heart rather than a brain. In her art Dana prefers to express the emotions rather then things. She spends most of her free time somewhere high up in the mountains, where she soaks up the experiences and the visual images and later transfers them into her art pieces.
