Candice Perry was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Alberta in 2005. She and her husband relocated to the Bow Valley area in 2012. Being born into a creative family, her relationship with art started at an early age. Her development as an artist was nurtured, guided, and inspired by her mother as well as her grandfather, an artist himself.
Initially painting in acrylic, Candice discovered the beauty and unpredictability of watercolours in 2015 and fell in love with the way the medium bloomed and flowed on the paper. Watercolours have helped loosen her tightly detailed inclinations bringing a nice balance of order and chaos to her pieces. Candice finds endless inspiration from mythology, the ever changing mountain vistas, her encounters with wildlife in the Rockies and on her travels around the world. When not painting Candice can be found camping and hiking with her husband, son and two rescue dogs Odin and Freya.
Candice’s original works are displayed at the CAG Gallery in Canmore, Alberta. Originals and prints can be found on her Etsy store CMPerryArt. You can also follow her artistic journey on instagram @cmperryart.
